  • Materials in this collection are from the Anchorage Museum's Atwood Resource Center that were part of a virtual repatriation collaborative project between the Anchorage Museum and Chickaloon Village Traditional Council (CVTC) entitled Decolonizing Museums: A New Vision of Collections Access that occurred between Fall 2021 through Spring 2024. The materials are from 36 various collections housed in the museum's archives that were identified by CVTC's research team comprised of CVTC Culture and Historic Preservation staff: Selena Ortega-Chiolero (Museum Specialist), Angela Wade (THPO), and Norma Wade (Deputy THPO), with the generous support of Larraine Wade (Chickaloon Native Village Clan Grandmother), Janet Daniels (Chickaloon Native VillageClan Grandmother),  Brenda Rebne (Cantwell), Grant Rebne (Cantwell), Kerri Wood (Chickaloon), Elsie Nickel (Cantwell), Eleanor Dementi (Cantwell), Wilson Justin (Chistochina), Shawna Larson (Chickaloon), Mary Moore (Chickaloon), Addy Ange (Chickaloon), Almeria Alcantra (CVTC), Benjamin Jacuk (Kenaitze & ANHC), Patsy Garcia (Knik), Deb Call (Knik), Fran Seiger-Boss (CVTC), Ann Phillips (Chickaloon), Dale Phillips (Chickaloon), Corina Ewan (Chitina), Tanya Finnesand (Chitina), Martin Finnesand (Chitina), Marilyn Joe (Chitina), and Wilbur Joe (Chitina).  It should be noted, that the collections represented in the Atwood Resource Center Collection are not in their entirety. The Tribe only requested the return of those materials representing the history and/or culture of Nay'dini'aa Na' Kayax and the Ahtna Dene of Alaska. Individuals interested in getting access to the subcollections in their entirety should contact the Anchorage Museum's Atwood Resource Center.
  • Through a Memorandum of Agreement between the Anchorage Museum and CVTC, signed on January 19, 2022, all rights to the images within the collection have been surrendered to CVTC to share according to the CVCT Digitization and Access Policy.
